Software Development Experience Overview

• October 2024 to December 2024 (3 months part-time)

  • Worked as ReactJS (and Bootstrap) frontend developer in a software company team for an NGO educational portal's volunteer contributions driven, learning aids asset management web app in part-time, work-from-home free service volunteer mode. This marked my return to software development work in software industry.

• June 2023 to September 2024 (16 months)

  Returned to software development work after a gap of around ten years

  • June 2024 to Aug 2024 (3 months part-time)
    • Developed an open source Bhagavad Gita Frontend app using Next.js, React, Tailwind, TypeScript and GraphQL - GitHub repo, Blog post with screenshots. Made notes-posts for other self-learners.
  • October 2023 to May 2024, September 2024 (9 months part-time)
    • Learned Next.js, Tailwind and TypeScript. Wrote notes-posts to help other self-learners.
    • Developed a Blogger Blog Feed to HTML Book open source, plain vanilla JavaScript app (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) - GitHub repo.
    • Learned MERN (MongoDB, Express, React.js and Node) full stack web development with simple blog mini-project:

    • Blogged about improving software development practice in academia, shared my lab. courses material online (link given below), and explored open source IT development for rural society which did not really take off.

    • In a Deemed University in India, taught programming (lab) courses and was technical consultant for projects at M.Tech. (CS) and M.Sc. (Maths & CS) level.
  • 1984 to 2002 (18 years)
    • In software development industry (in U.S., Europe, Far East Asia and India), played roles right from programmer, designer, project manager, software development manager to finally a software consultant role.
